Octomore 17.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 58.1% ABV. The barley is 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto, peated to 101.4 PPM, and the spirit matured on Islay in a combination of wine and bourbon casks, which gives it a fruit-led character. It is uncoloured and non-chill filtered.
Red fruits, raspberry and blackcurrant meet toasted oak on the nose, followed by clove, aniseed and cinnamon. The palate has barley sugar, sweet malt, citrus and coconut, with peat smoke building beneath. The finish is long and warming, with raisin, oak and lingering smoke.
