Bruichladdich Octomore 6.1 is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 57% ABV. It is made from 100% Scottish barley and peated to 167 ppm, which places it among the most heavily peated whiskies made. It matured in American oak. The nose opens with sea air and seaweed, followed by peppery smoke, heather, lime and water mint. On the palate, clear smoke and maritime notes sit over malt, sweet oak, vanilla and nuts, with fresh citrus and a little apple. The finish is long and warming.
