Octomore 6.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made from 100% Scottish barley and bottled at 58.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Limousin oak casks, which bring softness and a creamy texture despite the high peat level. The edition was produced as 18,000 bottles.
The nose is powerful and smoky, with red fruits and flowers. On the palate the peat is intense, with plenty of oak; a couple of drops of water bring out strawberry, raspberry and cherry, along with ash and caramel. The finish is very long, with smoke and peat returning strongly.
