Octomore 7.1 is the seventh edition of Bruichladdich's heavily peated Islay single malt. It is the last Octomore made under Master Distiller Jim McKewan, who had held the role since 2001 and announced his retirement in June. The release was held back to coincide with his departure.
The barley comes entirely from the Scottish mainland and is peated to 208ppm. After five years in American oak, the whisky was bottled at a cask strength of 59.5% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
