Bruichladdich – Octomore 7.2 5 Year Old (70cl, 58.5%)

Octomore 7.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich's Octomore range, bottled at 58.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition matured in American oak casks and in casks that previously held Syrah from well-known Rhône Valley vineyards. Its peating is 208 ppm of phenolic compounds, which places it among the most heavily peated whiskies in the world. The nose is powerful and smoky, with red fruits and flowers. The palate is powerful too, with a great deal of peat and woody notes, while ash, caramel and a touch of honey emerge with time in the glass. The finish is very long, ending on smoke and peat.
