Bruichladdich – Octomore 7.4 (61.2%)

Bruichladdich Octomore 7.4 is a limited edition Islay single malt made from 100 per cent Scottish barley. At 167 ppm, it is among the most heavily peated whiskies in the world, and it is bottled at 61.2% ABV. It was matured partly in fresh oak and ex-Bourbon casks, then moved into fresh oak casks after three years and again after a further two. The nose combines wood, leather, sweet smoke, fried bacon, caramel malt and sourdough. On the palate come oak spice and full smoke, yet it stays soft, with sweet and spicy notes of cloves and cinnamon. Full-bodied and opulent.
