Octomore 9.1 is a heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, bottled at 59.1% in a 70cl bottle. The Octomore range takes its name from an old distillery and is known for very smoky whisky.
The barley was Scottish Concerto, harvested in 2011 and distilled the following year, with a peating level of 156 ppm. The whisky matured in American oak casks, among them casks from Jim Beam (51%), Jack Daniel's (26%), Clermont (15%) and Old Grand Dad (8%).
