Octomore Edition 11.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at a cask strength of 59.4% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled in 2014 from Scottish barley of the 2013 harvest, peated to 139.6 parts per million, and aged five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks. It is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
It belongs to the eleventh annual Octomore series, launched in October 2020, and is made with Concerto and Propino barley.
The nose has lemon, wet peat and pencil shavings with salty minerality, opening to peach yoghurt, cinder toffee and honey. The palate brings brown sugar sweetness and chilli heat, and the finish is long, with malt, bonfire peat, tar and vanilla honey.
