Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 14.1 is an Islay single malt from the 14th Octomore series, released in 2023, in a 750ml bottle at 59.6% ABV. It was distilled in 2017 from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley of the 2016 harvest, peated to 128.9 parts per million.
The whisky is five years old and was matured entirely in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks. It is non-chill filtered, with no added colouring.
The distillery's notes describe a nose of smoked vanilla, caramel and toffee, sooty smoke, coconut and flaked almonds, with citrus cutting through. The palate brings citrus, smoke and minerality with charred oak, toffee, pear, green apple, roasted coffee and clove. The finish has butterscotch, vanilla, earthy peat and a hint of salt spray.
