Octomore Edition 15.1 is a single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, bottled at 59.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the core expression of the 15th Octomore series, with super-heavily peated spirit at 108.2 ppm.
The barley came from the 2017 Scottish mainland harvest, Concerto, and was distilled in 2018. After five years it was bottled, having matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and re-charred ex-bourbon casks.
The nose brings caramel and citrus wrapped in earthy peat smoke, with aniseed and custard. The palate offers mango, banana and apricot jam with vanilla and toffee, and the finish is long, with peat smoke, charred oak and a marine freshness.
