Bruichladdich – Octomore Edition 15.2 (70cl, 57.9%)

Octomore Edition 15.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 57.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2018 from barley of the 2017 Concerto harvest and peated to 108.2 ppm, the same spirit as Edition 15.1. It matured in second-fill wine and second-fill bourbon casks, then was recasked into first-fill Cognac casks for its final maturation. The nose opens with lime zest and lemon meringue, wrapped in earthy peat smoke and toasted oak. The palate is viscous and rich, with vanilla custard, caramel, toffee, charred oak, cinnamon and black pepper. A maritime finish follows, salt spray fading into peat embers.
