Octomore Edition 16.1 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 59.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition released in 2023, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. It is made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley and peated to 130.8 PPM.
The nose combines dry, earthy smoke with vanilla bean, lemon zest, toasted coconut and sea spray. The palate is creamy, with honeyed barley, grilled pineapple, white pepper and salted caramel. The finish is long, warm and dry, with kiln smoke, charred oak and malted biscuit.
