Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 16.3 is a five-year-old, very heavily peated Islay single malt, bottled at 61.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barley is 100% Concerto, grown on Church Field at Octomore Farm and malted to 189.5 PPM.
It was matured in bourbon, Sauternes and Pedro Ximénez casks. Head distiller Adam Hannett's slow distillation keeps the smoke dry, earthy and campfire-like. It is a limited release from 2025.
The nose is ripe barley, honeyed malt, citrus peel, sea salt, delicate smoke and orchard fruit. The palate is dense, with layers of smoke, dried fruit, honey, cinnamon and saline minerality. The finish is long and powerful, with lingering peat, sweet dark fruit and oak spice.
