Bruichladdich – Octomore Edition 17.2 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 59.5%)

Octomore Edition 17.2 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 59.5% ABV. It is part of the 2026 Octomore 17 series and was matured for five years entirely on Islay. The barley is Scottish mainland Concerto, peated to 81.0 PPM. Its casks set it apart: four years in second-fill French oak that previously held Californian red wine, then bourbon, followed by a finish in first-fill Port barriques. This combination has not been used for Octomore before. Master Blender Adam Hannett built it to show what heavy peat does with Port and wine-wood influence. It is non-chill filtered and has natural colour. The notes describe pepper and citrus up front, berry fruit from the Port through the middle, and dry, earthy smoke underneath.
