Octomore Edition 17.3 is a single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, bottled at 60.9% in a 70cl bottle. The barley is 100% Islay-grown Concerto from a single crop in Irene's Field on Octomore Farm, peated to 132.1 PPM at the malt stage. It was distilled in 2020 and matured for five years on Islay.
The spirit rested in first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill European oak casks that held Ribera del Duero, Sauternes, Eiswein and Syrah wines. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour.
It is described as powerful yet composed, weather-beaten and coastal, with robust peat smoke carrying elegance and nuance from the wine casks.
