Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 18 Year Old is the 2024 release of the heavily peated Islay malt, bottled at 54.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The spirit is distilled from 100% Scottish barley and peated to 40 ppm. It matured for 18 years in refill casks, 74% sherry and 26% French oak wine casks. Just 6,000 bottles were filled.
The peat is described as bonfire embers and sea spray, set over dark fruit, toasted oak and malt sweetness. The sherry casks add dried-fruit depth, while the wine casks bring a vinous lift.
