Bruichladdich – Rare Cask Series 1988 30 Year Old

This is a 30 year old Bruichladdich from the 1988 vintage, released in the Rare Cask Series. It has never been re-casked and spent its whole life in the wood it was first filled into. The casks are refill bourbon barrels and, unusually, refill squat hogsheads. Their gentle influence gave a delicate balance between spirit and wood, and this small parcel of casks was left alone to mature. It is described as definitive, old, bourbon-aged Bruichladdich.
