Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is a 10-year-old Islay single malt in a 75cl bottle. It is made from Scottish barley only, matured in 85% American oak and 15% sherry casks, and is unpeated. It was bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with no colouring added.
The spirit was filled into cask at 70% and bottled in 2011 at a ceremony at the distillery, as the return of the Classic Laddie under Master Distiller Jim McEwan.
The nose opens with barley sugar, a hint of mint and cut wild flowers, with lemon drops, honey and tangerine after a little water. The palate is sweet oak and barley, then ripe green fruit, brown sugar and sweet malt.
