The Classic Laddie is an unpeated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 50% ABV. It is made from 100% Scottish-grown barley, and is distilled, matured and bottled on Islay. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colouring.
There is no age statement. Each batch is a separate vatting put together by the head distiller, Adam Hannett, and the batch code on the bottle identifies the recipe. Casks vary by batch, with first-fill American oak leading and French oak and ex-wine casks used in some recipes.
The nose is barley sugar and a hint of mint, opening to wildflowers, lemon drops, honey and tangerine. The palate is sweet oak and barley with ripe green fruit and brown sugar, and the finish is smooth with a maritime edge.
