Bruichladdich – The Laddie Rye 7 Year Old Islay Single Grain Scotch Whisky (75cl, 50%)

The Laddie Rye is a 7-year-old Islay single grain Scotch whisky and the first rye release from Bruichladdich. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mash is 55% Islay-grown rye and 45% Islay-grown malted barley, unpeated, and the whisky is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. It matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and in virgin American oak casks that were toasted rather than charred. The tasting notes mention pepper, pear and malt on the nose. The palate brings butterscotch, rye spice and citrus, with an oily mouthfeel, alongside warming spice and mellow oak.
