This is the first edition of Bruichladdich Waves 7 Year Old, an Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled in 2006 at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
Most of the maturation took place in American oak bourbon casks, followed by a secondary finish in Madeira casks.
The nose brings sea spray, green apples, lemon zest and toasted vanilla over a soft red-berry note. The palate is creamy, with sweet malt, honey, citrus peel and poached pears, and the finish is crisp with citrus, wine tannins and a touch of brine.
