A Brunello di Montalcino from the 2018 vintage, produced by Banfi from Sangiovese grosso grown on the hills of Montalcino. The 2018 shows balance between freshness and softness, with traditional ageing in oak barrels giving aromatic complexity without overpowering the delicate fruity freshness. On the nose there are aromas of mature cherry, plum and light tobacco, accompanied by spicy nuances and balsamic hints. On the palate it is enveloping, with well-integrated tannins and long persistence. It suits roast red meats, braised dishes and aged cheeses.
