A blended Scotch whisky from the 1950s, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. Black & White was first produced by the London-based whisky blender founded by James Buchanan.
The brand began life as House of Commons, the official whisky there. Its nickname, taken from the black and white labelling, was eventually adopted as the official name. The motif of a black Scottish Terrier beside a white West Highland Terrier was Buchanan's own idea, conceived in the 1890s.
Mergers and acquisitions involving Dewar's in 1915, Distillers Company and Guinness followed, and the brand is now owned by Diageo.
