A 12 year old blended Scotch from Buchanan's, a house established by James Buchanan in 1884 and now part of Diageo. It comes in a 1 litre bottle at 40% abv.
The blend is built around Highland malts, with Dalwhinnie as a key component, married with grain whisky and matured in ex-bourbon oak casks. Its age statement is a minimum of 12 years.
The colour is a warm golden amber. On the nose there is heather honey, baked vanilla, ripe orchard fruit and a touch of fresh herbs. The palate is soft, with apricot, milk chocolate, citrus zest and gentle malt, leading to a warming, medium-length finish of honey, vanilla and light oak dryness.
