Buchanan's Green Seal is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is built around a single malt from Glen Elgin Distillery that had not been released before.
Master Blender Craig Wallace used a malt fermented with South African wine yeast instead of the usual distiller's yeast, a first for the Buchanan's range. Barley, water ratios and distillation were unchanged from Glen Elgin's standard process. The spirit was matured in American oak bourbon casks.
Orchard fruit, citrus zest and honey lead the nose. The palate offers vanilla, ripe apple, apricot jam and toffee with a tropical fruit note, and the finish is clean and moderate in length.
