Buchanan's Master (75cl, 40%)

Buchanan's Master is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40%, made with single malts from every whisky-producing region of Scotland. It is assembled by Master Blender Keith Law, with Dalwhinnie as a principal malt component. The nose brings lemon peel, almond cake, smoked green apple and buttercream, with toasted cereal, vanilla, a little peat smoke, heather and dried apricot. On the palate, praline and lemon pound cake give way to dried cherries and dark chocolate, with toasted nuts, baking spice and a gentle thread of smoke. The finish is moderate and oily, with smoky caramel, lemon zest and a faint ginger warmth.
