Buchanan's Red Seal is a blended Scotch whisky aged for a minimum of 21 years and bottled at 40% ABV. Its recipe draws on the blend James Buchanan supplied to the British Royal Family more than a century ago.
It combines Scottish single malts, including Dalwhinnie along with other Highland and Islay malts, with grain whiskies, matured in European and American oak casks. It comes in an embossed, decanter-style bottle.
On the nose it shows orchard and dried fruits. The palate brings dried fruit, dark chocolate, sherry sweetness and toasted oak, followed by a long finish.
