A blended Scotch whisky from Buchanan's, a house founded in 1884. Red Seal is the brand's prestige bottling, in a 750ml bottle at 40% (80 proof).
It is a blend of malt and grain whiskies, led by Scottish malts, which is matured and then given additional time together. The neck carries the Double Aged mark. The rounded glass decanter shades from amber to green at the base and has a crimson wax-style seal with the Buchanan's lion crest.
The nose is crisp apple and mandarin with honeyed malt, dried fruit and soft oak. The palate is smooth, with caramel, vanilla and bright citrus over gentle spice. The finish is long and warming, with a touch of smoke, ginger and lime.
