Buchanan's Red Seal is a blended Scotch whisky at 40% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It is the top expression in the Buchanan's range, a brand founded by James Buchanan in 1884. The blend is built around Dalwhinnie single malt, with other malt and grain whiskies from Scottish distilleries added. It was first launched for premium markets in Latin America and duty-free channels. The nose brings fruit chutney, toasted nuts, toffee and a little peat and smoke. The palate is silky and medium to full, with apple and mandarin. The long finish carries spice, golden raisins, heather honey, smoke, ginger and lime.
