Buffalo Trace Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 45% in a 375ml bottle. It is aged for a minimum of eight years.
It is made from Mash Bill #1, which is believed to hold roughly 10% rye or less, alongside corn and malted barley. The spirit goes into heavily charred, first-fill American oak barrels, with no more than 40 barrels selected for each small batch.
The nose offers caramel, honey, citrus peel and brown sugar. The palate has caramel, vanilla, cherry, raspberry and green apple, with leather and oak. The finish is medium-long, with oak, cherry and vanilla.
