Buffalo Trace Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon at 45% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is made at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, which has produced whiskey on the same site since 1775.
It is a sour mash bourbon made with Mash Bill #1, roughly 89.5% corn, 7% rye and 3.5% malted barley.
The nose is vanilla and caramel with light oak and a hint of citrus. The palate opens with caramel and brown sugar, then mild rye spice, cherry, honey and green apple. The finish is medium, with sweet vanilla, gentle warmth and a trace of oak.
