Buffalo Trace is a Kentucky straight bourbon, first introduced in 1999 and made in small batches. Each batch is drawn from 25 to 30 casks from warehouses C, I and K, taken only from the middle rows where the maturation is considered best. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has sharp rye over corn, citrus and oak, with spice, gentle vanilla and sweet mint. The palate is soft and oily, with corn taking up the prickle of rye and spice. The finish is sweet and oily like cream caramel, with the rye returning and hints of liquorice.
