Buffalo Trace Kosher Rye Recipe is a seven-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon made with the distillery's rye-recipe mash bill, which has a higher rye content than the standard Buffalo Trace recipe. It is bottled at 47% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It belongs to the distillery's kosher programme, made with the Chicago Rabbinical Council and aged in designated kosher barrels. It is kosher-certified but not kosher for Passover, and is released once a year after Passover.
Caramel, vanilla, rye spice and toasted oak show on the nose. The palate is rye-forward and spicy, with brown sugar, dark fruit and oak, and the finish is warm and lingering.
