This is a kosher straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery, made in partnership with the Chicago Rabbinical Council. It was aged for seven years in barrels designated as kosher and bottled at 94 proof, or 47% ABV.
To meet Passover requirements, the barrels were sold to a non-Jewish executive in a ceremony witnessed by a council representative. The bottling lines were cleaned beforehand, with no contact with non-kosher spirits. It is released after Passover each year and is described as big and brash.
