This is a 20-year-old straight rye whiskey from Bulleit, bottled at cask strength in a 75cl bottle. It is made from Bulleit's 95% rye mash bill, distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and matured in Kentucky.
The release commemorates America's 250th anniversary. It is bottled at 68.5% ABV (137 proof), and 1,776 individually numbered bottles were produced.
The nose is typically described as seasoned oak, baking spice, dried fruit and leather. On the palate come bold rye spice, caramelised sweetness, dark fruit, clove and black pepper, followed by a long, warming finish of oak, spice and caramel.
