Bulleit American Single Malt is a Kentucky whiskey made from 100% malted barley and aged in charred American white oak barrels. It is bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle.
Bulleit, based in Louisville and known for its high-rye bourbon, distils this one on a copper column still with a second pass through a copper doubler. The barley is a specially chosen strain, and the bottle is made from recycled glass.
The nose opens with vanilla and toasted oak, then golden hay, barley husks, lemon peel, honeycomb and a little campfire smoke. The palate offers apricot, red fruit and ripe pear, with brown sugar, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is smooth and moderately long, with oaky caramel, cocoa, and a last touch of lemon peel and cedar.
