Bulleit Barrel Strength is a straight bourbon from the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey family, here from Batch 8. It is made with the brand's high-rye mash bill and bottled at 121.8 proof, or 60.9% ABV, in a 750 ml bottle.
It goes into the bottle straight from the barrel, with no added water and no chill-filtration.
The nose is sweet oak and gentle spice with fresh caramel, toasted cedar and high-rye warmth. The palate is full-bodied, with maple syrup, toffee, dark fruit, seasoned oak and nutmeg. The finish is long, warm and dry-leaning, with toasted oak, rye pepper and a faint toffee sweetness.
