Bulleit Bourbon is a high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45% in a 1 litre bottle. It won a Gold medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The mash bill is 68% corn, 28% rye and 4% malted barley, and the spirit is aged for at least six years in charred American white oak barrels. Five yeast strains are used in fermentation.
The nose combines gentle spice and sweet oak with vanilla, honey and baked apple. On the palate come vanilla, caramel, maple and nutmeg, with a peppery warmth and a touch of orange zest. The finish is long and dry, with toffee, cinnamon and toasted oak.
