This is an 11 year old unpeated Bunnahabhain from Islay, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Discovery series, which began in 2018 and uses a colour code to show the basic style of each whisky. The purple capsule indicates maturation in former sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers ripe pear, honey, sweet raspberry jam and a hint of lemon and lime. The palate is balanced, with green apple, lightly salted dark chocolate, ripe peach and a touch of menthol. The finish is spicy, with aniseed, white pepper and fresh lemon zest.
