A 12 year old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled by Thompson Bros of Dornoch at 46.1% ABV. It was matured in Madeira wine wood and is in natural colour and without chill filtration.
Bunnahabhain is unpeated, and here its coastal, oily character meets red berries, citrus, spice and honeyed sweetness from the Madeira casks.
The nose is rich and oily with coastal minerality, red berries, citrus oils, toasted cinnamon and a touch of peanut brittle. The palate brings orange peel, cinnamon, honey, walnut oil and soft red fruits. The finish is long and warming, with honey, baking spices and walnut oil.
