Bunnahabhain – 12 Year Old Single Islay Malt Scotch Whisky 1990s (70cl, 40%)

This is Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old, a single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, bottled in the 1990s at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Bunnahabhain stands on Islay's remote north east coast. It was founded in 1881 by William Robertson in partnership with Greenlees Bros, and the project included houses, a road and a pier for bringing in casks and barley. The large stills, run with low fill levels and a great deal of copper, have long produced a light style of malt, traditionally matured in ex-sherry casks. It is described as a soft, mellow whisky with a hint of peat.
