Bunnahabhain 12 Year is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 46.3% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and has natural colour.
The distillery stands on Islay's north-east coast. Its barley is only lightly peated, to 3 phenol parts per million, and the whisky is matured for a minimum of twelve years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The nose combines blackcurrant jam and sherry sweetness with vanilla, cloves and toffee. On the palate come creamy malt, roasted nuts, sultanas and warming spice, with a touch of coastal brine. The finish is long, with roasted nut, dried fruit and sea salt.
