This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, the distillery founded in 1881 by the Greenlees Brothers on the island's northern shore. It is an unpeated style, made with water from the Margadale Spring and run through tall, pear-shaped stills.
The nose is rich with black cherries, plums and blackberries, alongside vanilla fudge, shortbread and roasted nuts. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with treacle toffee, cinnamon pastries, dried figs, soft herbal notes and creamy caramel. The long, warm finish brings spice, roasted coffee and a trace of sea spray.
