Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old is an Islay single malt from the distillery on the island's northeast coast, bottled at 46.3% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
Bunnahabhain is known for malts that are milder in peat than many of its island neighbours. This one was matured for 18 years, mainly in sherry casks, which gives it dried fruit and toffee depth with a little sea salt and oak spice.
Honey-glazed nuts, toffee, dried figs and raisins come through on the nose. The palate offers dried fruit compote, chocolate-covered raisin and walnut skin, and the finish is long, with gentle oak tannins, nutmeg or clove and salted almonds.
