This is an unpeated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2022 at 23 years old as a Fèis Ìle festival edition. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
After its long main maturation, the whisky spent its final two years in French Calvados casks. It was bottled at 49.7%, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The nose offers barley sugar, pear drops and toffee apples, followed by dates and a floral note with a hint of conifer. The palate is sweet and fruity, with green apple, toffee, dried fruit and an oily texture. The finish starts firm and spicy before turning floral.
