This is a 23-year-old Bunnahabhain created for the 2022 Feis Ile, the Islay festival. It is a limited edition, bottled in 2022 at 49.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured for 23 years in oak casks and was then finished in former Calvados casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose offers ripe apples, caramelised pear and spiced oak, with a touch of vanilla and warm spices. The palate is soft and velvety, with sweet fruit, roasted nuts and a light, salty sea breeze. The finish is long, with honey, spices and gentle smoke.
