A 25-year-old unpeated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled by the Artful Dodger Whisky Collective at 41.7% ABV in a 50cl bottle.
It was distilled in 1995 and matured in a single bourbon hogshead until it was bottled in 2024, giving an outturn of 182 bottles. The bourbon wood takes it away from the heavy sherry styling the distillery is known for, towards a coastal character.
The nose is bananas on warm porridge, honeyed cereal and vanilla cream with a cool sea breeze. The palate brings orchard fruits, honey glaze, warm malt loaf and a waxy sweetness, and the long finish has toasted almonds, a little leather and a saline end.
