This is a 30-year-old single barrel Bunnahabhain, bottled at cask strength at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle. It forms part of The Kinship, a collection from Hunter Laing, and is the 2020 release. The whisky was distilled in 1989.
The nose brings fresh lemon zest, ginger, almonds and nutmeg, along with a malt-filled grist bin and a note of ozone. On the palate the arrival is fresh and mouth-watering, subtle at first and growing with time into citrus, brine and a sponge-cake sweetness.
