Bunnahabhain Abhainn Araig is an unpeated Islay single malt made for Feis Ile 2022, in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from the Araig River, a tributary that feeds the distillery's Margadale water source. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
PX sherry influence runs through it, alongside balsamic sweetness and cinnamon warmth.
The nose has chocolate-covered raisins, honey-roasted nuts and treacle toffee, with crystallised ginger, leather and a hint of cigar box. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, with cereal notes and a touch of raspberry cereal with milk. The finish is long, with lingering fruit, spice and dark sweetness.
