Bunnahabhain Abhainn Araig is an unpeated Islay single malt, bottled at 50.8% in a 70cl bottle. The name means 'Araig River' in Scots Gaelic, and the whisky was created to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2022.
It was matured in ex-Bourbon and PX sherry octave casks, giving a sherried, bold and complex dram.
The nose brings chocolate, powdered ginger and cigar box. The palate is velvety, with milk chocolate, sweet raisins and dried raspberries, then balsamic vinegar and honeyed macadamias. The finish is deep and rich, with dark toffee and a final burst of cinnamon spice.
